Made to Measure:

Why does it take four weeks for my order to be sent?

Infamy Apparel is committed to creating deliberately and reducing the amount of waste associated with our designs. This means it takes a little bit longer for your creation to be made. If you require your piece earlier than four weeks, please reach out to us to see if it can be accommodated. Please note, the rush fee is +25%.

Is your sizing the same as everywhere else?

We strongly recommend measuring yourself before selecting a size. Each design has some notes on the main tension points and what we mean by this is the most important measurements,

My size is not in the chart, can I still order?

Absolutely, we have tried our best to capture a range of sizes based on our experience but acknowledge that it may not cover everybody. If your size is not covered in our sizing chart then please select CUSTOM SIZE when making your order and we will collect your information directly. This does not count as an Atelier service and cannot be used to make any changes to the selected garment.

Your measurements will be used to create a Made to Measure garment that is closest to you on the sizing chart (i.e. going up or down one size).

Atelier Service:

When should i book my appointment?

We recommend as soon as possible. There is an eight week lead in for all Atelier creations. However, for significant occasions like your wedding, we recommend at least eight months in advance.

Infamy Apparel allows bookings up to a year in advance so let us know as soon as possible to make sure we can fit you in.

What should i bring to my appointment?

You should bring along any reference material (pictures, screenshots) that you would like to discuss. There is no need to bring shapewear or heels to your initial appointment but we do strongly recommend you bring these to your first fitting.

What is the Atelier process?

After you book your appointment, we will confirm the location of the initial consultation. You have the choice of in person or via web chat for this consultation. You will have between one - three fittings built into your Atelier package and a final fitting where you can take away your creation.

How does the consultation fee work?

The $90 fee is required for the initial consultation with Amy, and this will be deducted from your final invoice. Please allow 30 – 40 minutes for this process. You can book an in-person or web chat consultation.

Please note, all in-person consultations are held in Auckland and the address will be provided upon booking. You are welcome to bring one or two friends or family with you to this appointment. If you need more than this allowance, please let us know so we can accommodate this.

When do i need to confirm my order?

After your initial consultation you will receive a custom sketch and quote. This quote is valid for 14 days.

If your order is more than three months in advance you may be able to arrange a longer quote validity range however your quote includes the sourcing of fabrics and haberdashery which can be subject to change and any additional transit costs due to delays will need to be passed on.

To confirm your order a deposit of 70% must be paid and the balance of your invoice paid before your final fitting. Atelier garments cannot be released to you before the invoice is fully paid.

We accept credit card payments and bank transfers. Your personalised Atelier dossier includes all payment dates and convenient links to arrange payment through our POS system on our website. Payment arrangements can be accommodated so please just let us know.

What payment methods do you accept?

We can accept credit and debit cards through our website's point of sale system or bank transfers. All payment methods will be included in your Atelier dossier.

Can I customise one of your existing designs?

Absolutely, in fact the Atelier process is the only way to add your own flair to one of our existing pieces. You are welcome to book this service to customise any of the collections currently on our website or one of our archival pieces. Please just let us know in your booking form.

Can i get you to copy another dress?

Unfortunately, we do not replicate others designs. Aside from copyright issues we do believe that all artists should be recognised for their own work. If you have specific elements that you want to incorporate or a general silhouette, then we may be able to accommodate those so please do get in touch.

Can i order custom accessories with you?

Absolutely! We love to create entire looks with our clients and have created hats, jewelry and gloves to accompany garments.

What is the Repair/Resize program?

We know that an Infamy piece is an investment and often uses a lot of polyester fabric to achieve the proportions we are famous for. To do our part, all Atelier pieces and collections are designed with as little wastage as possible. Each piece will indicate the wastage associated with its construction, and we are always looking for ways to improve.

Infamy Apparel builds in extra allowance to our Made to Measure and Atelier pieces so at any point your garment can be resized for a small cost. This means that it can grow with you and be an item that is with you for life.

In addition, any small repairs can be addressed by our team. This covers you for small tears or seam issues and each request will be assessed.

If you would like to reimagine your piece, then please contact us and we can book in time to give your creation a new lease on life.

Infamy Apparel is committed to creating deliberately and we want to do our part to ensure you can cherish your Infamy Apparel piece for life.

Can i hire one of your pieces?

We do not currently hire out our archival pieces but if you have a kaupapa that is linked to fat advocacy or radical body sovereignty then please get in touch as we love to support our community.

I am a stylist, can i pull some of your pieces?

We love to see our work in the hands of talented stylists. Please note that we do require a fee for maintenance and cleaning to be paid prior to any loans.
